Mission
The Center for Mathematical Physics Hamburg is a joint venture of DESY, the physics and the mathematics department of Hamburg University. It has been founded in December 2004.
Its aim is to foster the activities in mathematical physics in Hamburg. The main focus of its activity are mathematical aspects of string theory and quantum field theory.
The ZMP is involved with the following activities:
- Cluster of excellence Quantum Universe
- SFB 1624 "Higher structures, moduli spaces and integrability"
The ZMP was involved with the following activities:
- Collaborative Research Center SFB 676 ‘Particles, Strings, and the Early Universe’ (‘Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB)’).
- Research Training Group 1670 Mathematics inspired by string theory and QFT (‘Graduiertenkolleg 1670’).
